The Art & Design of Born of Hope
There is a lot of art and design in Born of Hope. Being a historical fantasy, all props and costumes cannot just be found in the actors' wardrobes. Everything must be acquired for the film and I've found that it's often cheaper in the long run to make or purchase almost everything rather than hiring them. We will be borrowing a lot of things too.
COSTUME DESIGN STORYBOARDS ORCS
Kate Robinson
Rosalind Evans
Catherine Karina Chmiel
Storyboards for an early story concept of the origins of the Ring of Barahir. These rough storyboards were drawn up by the talented Henning Janssen
Below is one of the first orc head sculptures that was created for the film.
This detailed work is being created by Luke McNally.
The work below is actually being made for another fan film called The Hunt for Gollum which some of the BoH team are helping with. The three masks created by Luke McNally will also be used in Born of Hope.

Think you're a bit of a wiz in Photoshop or give you a pen and paper and you'll doodle for hours? Well if you are interested in getting involved you can now put that energy to good use. |

This is a chance to have a go at doing your own design work for Born of Hope. On this page I have added a large number of photos taken during our trailer shoot in April and I am allowing you to download them to design and create posters, postcards, web banners and other publicity items.
For example:
Above is one of our current poster designs created by Carlos Avina our Graphic Artist
Below are examples of poster designs from the New Line Trilogy
You do not need to try to copy any of the above designs, they are simply to help inspire you.
So basically, have a play and once you have a design you like simply send it to me via email.
team@actorsatworkproductions.com
(NB. please keep the file sizes small. I can always ask you for a larger, higher quality one later.) There is no limit to the number of designs you can send and there is also no deadline.

The designs (as you can see above) will be displayed on this site with a credit to the designer (so make sure you tell me who you are and maybe where you are from). If you are lucky we may even get your design printed.
All the photos below are available for you to use. You can also use any you like on the media page. However, any designs you do must be approved by myself and my team before they can be displayed anywhere. Please do not abuse our trust on this matter. I want people to be able to get involved if they wish to but I also need to maintain control of our vision for the project. I hope you all understand this.
HAVE FUN!
Special thinks to our stills photographers Liz Johnston, James Rigby and Neill Phillips
